KATS- Newsletter 3rd September 2018

Dear Parents & Students,

I hope you have all had a lovely Summer Break.
I’m sorry it’s been so long since I’ve been in touch but as most of you are already aware my step Dad Barry (known as Bill to most of you) very suddenly passed away during the holidays; this was a huge shock to us all. The last few weeks have been very difficult and with his funeral only being held last Friday (31st August), we are only now trying to get back into some kind of ‘normal’ routine… after this heartbreaking loss we are still trying to work out what our ‘normal’ will be.

Bill played a huge part in the running of KATS by supporting myself and Mum in lots of different ways. Classes were due to start back this coming Saturday (8th September) but unfortunately this is just a little too soon for both myself and Mum, I hope you all understand. Saturday 15th September is a Masons Saturday so we are unable to have the Bunbury Rooms for classes on this day anyway. With all this in mind we have decided to wait until Monday 17th September to return to classes. I am sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, a lot of thought has gone into this decision to try and be fair to everyone.
This year’s Christmas show is booked for Saturday 8th December at the Jubilee Centre, as you can appreciate a lot of time and effort goes into the planning of these shows. With everything else this is something we haven’t had chance to think about, so now myself and Mum will be spending this extra time choosing and editing music, sourcing costumes and all the other jobs that go with putting on a show. We will be ready to start our show preparations in classes as soon as we return on Monday 17th September.

I would like to take this opportunity to Thank so many of you who sent messages, Cards, Flowers etc and also those who attended the funeral, helping to support us through this very sad time. Your warmth and concern was greatly appreciated. Thank you so much!

Just prior to losing Bill I dropped a completely broke my phone, I have managed to replace it and I’m back up and running with the same number but unfortunately I lost lots of messages and number in the process. I am desperately trying to contact everyone (current students and new students who were booked in to start in September) with this change in start date but please could you all help me spread the word; I would hate to miss anyone.

Thank you for taking the time to read this, I hope you all understand… KATS and all you students are so very important to us, we really are looking forward to getting back to classes and seeing you all, we just need this extra time, Thank you!

Kind Regards
Kim xxx
