To All Our KATS Family,
This is a post the I have been dreading having to write but I think in our heart of hearts we all knew that as soon as the government announced school closures, us dance schools would have follow suit for everybody’s health and safety. So it is with sadness that I have to tell you that all KATS classes are going to finish 2 weeks early for Easter this year. This means no classes from now until we resume after the Easter Holidays (Date to be confirmed). Please rest assured that we will be back as soon as possible, I will keep you all updated but for now keeping our students and their family’s safe must come first.
I have been looking into different options there are for teaching online classes. This is something that I will continue to research but in terms of delivering safe, technical, dance teaching from my home to yours, it’s proving quite difficult. Although I can demonstrate personally I feel for me it would be really hard to make corrections teaching through an online platform and be sure that students are executing moves safely with the right technique. I can’t be responsible for doing more harm than good in terms of students dance training. So with this in mind until I have found a way around my concerns we will be offering lots of fun activities, challenges and competition to keep you moving safely, keep your love of dance alive and most importantly get through this difficult time together. Sharing something we love online with our friends and family… everyone can get involved, it will cost absolutely nothing and keep you fit and healthy ready for our return to classes. Keep a lookout on our KATS facebook page for our first challenge to follow soon.
At this time the production company is still saying our Royal Albert Hall performance will go ahead as planned. Obviously I can’t tell you anymore than that at the moment as I must be guided by them; I will of course keep you all updated regarding this as soon as I receive any further information.
This is a completely new situation for all of us; KATS is not just a business, I call it our KATS family because you all feel like an extended family to me. We’ve shared so many wonderful times together, not just sharing amazing experiences through performing opportunities but also our weekly classes in the Bunbury Rooms. I look forward to seeing you all when you walk through the door, these times are the highlight of my week. In this current situation we’ve been forced into we all need to stay in touch and offer as much love and support to each other as we can. I promise as soon as we can get back to normality we will, but in the meantime look after yourselves and enjoy this time with your family…….. (And keep stretching for your splits, But warm up first!!!!)
Thank you for all the messages of support I have received during this difficult time, it really is appreciated. All my students and their families hold a special place in my heart, us dance teachers really do have the best job ever and I can’t wait to get back and see you all soon.
Lots of Love XXXXXX
